About
Amber Reed’s artistic journey began as a child in Northern Michigan. She’s a mixed Native who was raised with her Indigenous family. Affiliated with Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Her Anishinaabe + Irish heritage has shaped her creative spirit. Growing up her mother made sure she was immersed in nature, taught her how to live in harmony with the earth to the best of her ability in this modern age, a way of living that continues to influence her work & the way she walks today.
After founding By Amber Reed in 2014, she continued to expand her design and hand-forging skills found in her jewelry, hair adornments, and home décor, using natural stones, porcupine quills, shells, and partially reclaimed precious metals. Amber’s intuitive design process blends tradition, relational care, and personal expression, emphasizing the sacred relationship between the earth & each other.
Now based in O'odham Land-Phoenix, Amber continues to draw inspiration from her heritage and the natural world, creating pieces that honor both the materials, creator that crafts them & those who will be wearing them. Her work is known for its intentionality, and she especially values collaboration with other artists and clients, designing bespoke pieces that hold deep personal meaning and are intended to be cherished for generations.
