Jewelry Care Guide
Heirloom-quality jewels made to be worn, lived in, and cared for thoughtfully
METAL CARE
Sterling Silver (.925)
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time — this is normal and part of its character.
To care for sterling silver:
Store in a dry place when not worn
Wear often — skin contact helps slow tarnish
Gently polish with a silver polishing cloth as needed
Clean with mild soap and warm water; dry thoroughly
Avoid:
Prolonged moisture
Chlorine, pools, hot tubs
Harsh cleaners or abrasive materials
Brass
Brass develops a warm patina over time. This aging is intentional and beautiful.
To care for brass:
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing
Clean occasionally with mild soap and water; dry completely
If you prefer a brighter finish, gently polish with a brass cloth
Patina notes:
Brass may darken or warm with wear
Skin chemistry can affect color — this is natural and harmless
Copper
Copper is a living metal that reacts to air, skin, and environment.
To care for copper:
Expect natural patina and color changes
Wipe clean after wearing
For brighter copper, polish gently with a copper cloth
Good to know:
Copper may leave temporary green or dark marks on skin
This is non-toxic and washes off easily
Patina is part of copper’s beauty and story
STONE, SHELL & ORGANIC MATERIAL CARE
Natural Stones
Each stone is unique in structure and durability.
Stone care tips:
Remove jewelry before heavy activity or impact
Clean gently with a soft cloth
Use mild soap and water only when needed; dry thoroughly
Avoid:
Ultrasonic cleaners
Steam cleaning
Dropping or knocking against hard surfaces
Chemicals, perfumes, and oils
Shell, Mother-of-Pearl & Organic Materials
Shells and pearls are organic and more delicate than stone or metal.
To care for shell and pearl:
Put jewelry on after perfumes, lotions, and oils
Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing
Store separately to prevent scratching
Avoid:
Water exposure
Soaking
Chemicals or cleaners
Prolonged sun or heat
GENERAL CARE BEST PRACTICES
Remove jewelry before sleeping, bathing, swimming, or exercising
Store pieces separately to avoid scratching
Handle with care — heirloom pieces are durable, but not indestructible
Patina and subtle wear are part of the story, not flaws
