Custom Jewelry Commission Agreement
This agreement is entered into between By Amber Reed (“Jeweler”) and the commissioning client (“Client”).
By submitting a deposit, the Client agrees to the following terms:
1. Nature of Custom Work
All custom jewelry by By Amber Reed is heirloom-quality, thoughtfully handcrafted for longevity, wearability, and lasting meaning.
Each custom piece is designed collaboratively and made by hand in the Jeweler’s studio.
Custom work is not fast fashion. The Jeweler accepts a limited number of commissions at a time to maintain quality and integrity.
2. Custom Pricing Tiers
Custom Tier I — Heirloom Custom
For one-of-a-kind, statement, legacy pieces.
Rate: $120 per hour
Includes:
Original design & concept development
Hand fabrication from raw materials
Advanced stone setting & structural work
One-of-a-kind heirloom craftsmanship
Materials: Priced separately (sterling silver, gold, copper, stones, specialty components)
Deposit: 50% deposit required to begin
Deposit is non-refundable once work has startedBest for: Statement rings, cuffs, ceremonial pieces, deeply personal designs
Custom Tier II — Signature Custom
For simpler, more accessible custom work.
Rate: $75 per hour
Includes:
Simplified custom designs
Limited revisions
Based on existing styles or collections
Handcrafted with the same care & quality
Materials: Priced separately
Deposit: 50% deposit required to begin (Orders over $200)
Best for: Cuffs, bracelets, minimal rings, stone swaps, meaningful gifts
3. Deposits & Payment
A 100% Payment is required on all custom work 50% Deposit $200+ or more
Deposits secure the client’s place in the Jeweler’s schedule.
Once work has started, deposits are non-refundable.
Final balance is due prior to delivery or shipment.

4. Materials & Stone Integrity
Natural stones and handcrafted materials vary in structure and durability.
Design decisions may be limited by stone integrity, wearability, and long-term durability.
The Jeweler will not compromise craftsmanship standards or stone safety to meet aesthetic requests that could risk damage or failure.
5. Revisions
Revisions are limited, as noted under the selected custom tier.
Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may incur additional charges.
Major design changes after work has begun may affect pricing and timeline.
6. Timeline
Custom timelines vary based on scope and materials.
Typical completion time is approximately 2–6 weeks.
Timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
7. Communication & Meetings
Design alignment and communication occur throughout the process.
Project coordination is handled via photos, written communication, phone, or video call.
In-person meetings are not required for custom work.

8. Cancellation
If the Client chooses to cancel after work has begun, the deposit remains non-refundable.
Any completed labor or materials beyond the deposit may be invoiced accordingly.
The Jeweler reserves the right to pause or end a project if alignment on process or scope cannot be reached.
9. Delivery
Delivery method (pickup or shipping) will be determined per project.
Shipping costs and insurance, if applicable, are the responsibility of the Client.

10. Craft & Authorship
All designs and finished pieces remain the creative work of By Amber Reed.
The Jeweler may photograph completed work for portfolio, website, or social media unless otherwise agreed in writing.
11. Acceptance
Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of this agreement and its terms.
