At By Amber Reed, each piece of jewelry is thoughtfully handcrafted using quality materials and traditional techniques. My work is designed to be worn, lived in, and cared for over time.

Because every piece is handmade and many designs incorporate natural materials, the following policies help set clear expectations around wear, warranty, and repairs.

Warranty

By Amber Reed jewelry is warranted against workmanship defects for 6 months from the date of delivery.

This warranty covers:

• Structural issues related to craftsmanship

• Solder joint failure due to manufacturing defect

• Stone security when the original design and usage guidelines are followed

If a genuine workmanship issue occurs within the warranty period, repairs will be completed at no cost.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear

• Scratches, dents, patina, or surface wear

• Damage from impact, bending, dropping, or improper use

• Exposure to water, chemicals, heat, or harsh conditions

• Improper storage or care

• Third-party alterations or repairs

• Changes in stone appearance or structure over time

Natural patina, softening of edges, and subtle wear are considered part of the natural aging process of heirloom jewelry.

Stone, Shell & Organic Materials Disclaimer

Many By Amber Reed pieces feature natural stones, shell, and organic materials, which vary in structure and durability.

Please note:

• Natural stones may chip, crack, or wear depending on use

• Shell and mother-of-pearl are especially delicate

• These materials are not guaranteed against damage or wear

Design decisions are made with longevity in mind, but natural materials require mindful wear.

Repairs

Repairs are offered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the condition of the piece and material availability.

• Repairs outside the warranty period may incur labor and material fees

• Repair estimates will be provided after inspection

• Shipping costs for repairs are the responsibility of the client

• Repairs do not include redesign or major alteration of the original piece

Custom pieces are repairable within their original design intent, but repairs are not redesigns.

Care Responsibility

Proper care is essential to the longevity of handcrafted jewelry. Please refer to the Jewelry Care Guide provided with your purchase for best practices.

By wearing your jewelry, you acknowledge that ongoing care and mindful use are part of owning a handcrafted piece.

Common Repair Ranges

• Stone tightening / setting check: $50–$75

• Simple solder repair (jump ring, small break): $65–$95

• Ring resize (simple band): $85–$150

• Replace small stone (stone cost additional): $95–$175

• Rebuild or reinforce worn prongs / settings: $150–$300+

Repairs on Outside / Personal Jewelry

Hourly Repair Rate
$120 / hour

Outside repairs carry higher risk due to unknown construction, solder, and stone treatment.

Materials

• Metals (sterling silver, brass, copper, gold): priced separately

• Stones, shell, and specialty components: priced separately

• Client-supplied stones are accepted at the jeweler’s discretion

Important Notes

• Repairs are not redesigns or aesthetic changes

• Soft stones, shell, and organic materials require mindful wear and may not always be repairable

• Repair estimates are provided after inspection

• Shipping costs for repairs are the responsibility of the client

• Turnaround times vary based on scope and studio schedule
